And so that was that for another year, 2009, and SFTOC's last say on the noughties.
At
last there was some sunshine, (my trusty shower clock recorded exactly
5 minutes and 32 seconds of rain), some truly remarkable music and
performances and a really wonderful atmosphere created by each and every
single person there.
We had an absolute blast.
We'll hopefully see you again in '10 but till then here is a bit of a wrap-up...

SOME REVIEWS HERE:
"That
a selection of such exceptionally curated leftfield music even exists
is a cause for celebration; that it's managed to sell out (tickets)
without "selling out" (to commercialism) is nothing short of a
triumph."

"Most of the bands will be unknown to anyone but the most dedicated scene watchers, but the spirit of Sounds From The Other City is one of discovery...Bands aside, the other great thing about Sounds From The Other City is its creeping element of the village fete. It's this quirky character and easy atmosphere that makes the event so special. Last orders came too soon"

"A triumphant showcase for the obscure, the invigorating, the mystifying and the up-and-coming, today in The Other City effortlessly tops another bank holiday screening of James Bond. Roll on next year."
