When it comes to bands we have an ecelctic taste, but generally it can be summed up by 'off kilter wonky pop'. In the past we have had The Invisible, YACHT, Casiokids, The Emperor Machine, Max Tundra, Wild Beasts and Dananananaykroyd grace our stages as well all other manner of great Manchester bands. You can expect the unexpected and with no doubt the most upbeat welcoming crowd around.

Fujiya & Miyagi

We are giddy to finally be able to present Fujiya & Miyagi to the Manchester public. This Brighton (not Tokyo) based four-piece have been created out of the most holy union of Can, Neu! and YMO to bring intergalactic Kraut-Funk grooves to 21st century ears. Conceived on the subs bench of Sunday league football matches over a love of heavyweight wrestler Kendo Nagasaki, F&M began creating electronic odes to everyday life in the early noughties, releasing their debut Electro Karaoke in the Negative Style in 2002, and have gone from strength to strength ever since with 2006's Transparent Things and 2008's Lightbulbs. Layering whispered lyrical explorations of 21st century materialism, pop culture and sportswear over motorik beats and lush synths, F&M create a soundscape that plots a course between melancholia, euphoria and head-nodding hip-thrusting funk. Be prepared to dance and hug everyone around you.

Egyptian  Hip Hop

Egyptian Hip Hop are the Manchester four piece that graced every single "ones to watch list" going at the turn of the year, and are fresh from the release of their debut single "Wild Human Child" on Hit Club. Although neither from Cairo or Compton, they create a unique and experimental sound, sitting somewhere between post-punk and baggy pop with spiky guitars and buzzy, fuzzy synths aplenty. They are definite ones to watch, and with Late of the Pier's Sam at the production helm for their new material this is the hottest ticket in town.

Wu Lyf

W(orld) U(nite) L(ucifer) Y(outh) F(oundation) are a Mancunian four-piece swathed in mystery. Coming across like a cult movement, their live shows are explosive and energetic, mostly containing scenes of nudity and violence, and ideally suited to intimate surroundings. Sonically speaking, they make noisy punk gospel with the lo(west) of fi(delity) (perfectly summed up in their own words as "Heavy Pop"), and having already left a trail of astounded industry types in their wake, they're gonna blow the roof off the Old Pint Pot.

Dutch Uncles

Perennial Dancing Horses favourites Dutch Uncles (not from the Netherlands) have been one of Manchester's most interesting bands for the last four years and we're delighted to have the pleasure of their company once again. Always melodic, inventive and impeccably dressed, Dutch Uncles return armed with new material and awe inspiring single, "The Ink" on Love & Disaster. Expect to see a vital and mature band taking their sound to the next level.

MAY68

Rounding off the theme of geographically cryptic bandnames we have MAY68, Manchester's finest electro-disco revolutionaries. Musically they could be best described as the result of Daft Punk and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs getting hot and heavy whilst watching Purple Rain. They combine italo, french house and post punk into energetic and sexy discofunk bombs designed with the dance floor in mind. Their debut single "My Ways" has just dropped on Hit Club and is getting extensive radio props from Nick Grimshaw and the boys, and Zane Lowe recently likened their remixing skills to one Sergio Giorgio Moroder. With a spate of good looking festival dates ruining their holiday plans we're lucky to have bagged one of the hottest prospects around.
