With 8 days to go til Sounds from the Other City, we thought it best to introduce another one of the acts playing this year’s festival to help get you in the mood.
‘Bolide’ from Australian duo Kllo is one of those “can’t stop pressing repeat” kind of bangers, well thinking about it, so are all their other songs. Last year’s Well Worn EP developed the duo’s sound into a more dance-focused and dreamy synth-based soundscape which of course we’re all for here at SFTOC.
Based in Melbourne, cousins Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam have done nothing but tour extensively since their debut 2014 EP Cusp and have totally captivated the scene here in the UK from the other side of the world. Although it makes a lot of sense, the duo’s influences dive deep into UK garage, appearing in Kllo’s use of samples and hypnotic rhythms heard throughout their work. Expect to leave their set captivated, mesmerised and yearning for more.
Kllo play Now Wave’s stage at Unit 5 Regent Trading Estate at SFTOC. You can get one of the final festival tickets here: http://www.soundsfromtheothercity.com/tickets/
