Sounds From The Other City

SFTOC 2020 – thanks, and a countdown, of sorts

The last few months have been tough for everyone, and it is with great warmth in our hearts that we would like to thank those of you who were able to roll over your Sounds from the Other City tickets into next year. While the inability to run this year’s edition of the festival has been a blow, your ongoing support means that the future of the 2021 festival is looking ever more secure. If, however, your circumstances mean you do still require a refund, please raise a support request with Skiddle who can process payments.

In just over one week’s time, we would have been celebrating on Chapel Street – the reality of that fact only serves to illustrate what strange and difficult times we are living through. However, to commemorate what would’ve been our 16th year of community, new music, and art, we’ll be spending next week doing our annual Countdown to Sounds, inviting friends of the festival and some of our favourite artists to take over our social media channels to bring some Sounds vibes to your lockdown.

There will be performances, durational pieces, and even a SFTOC-themed quiz, all leading up to Saturday 2 May, the day of what would’ve been Sounds from the Other City 2020, as we look to build toward next year’s festival. Creativity, caring, and unity have rarely been more important – and we’re asking for your help to ensure that once this crisis is over, we can guarantee the short- and medium-term future of the festival. Over the course of our week of SFTOC 2020 commemorations, we’ll be running a crowdfunding campaign, with any and all donations being used to fund the people, ideas, and organisations that make our festival possible. We’ll have more details – as well as plenty of Sounds vibes – on Monday, as we begin our countdown to nothing. See you then – and once again, thank you.
